Terms

The rules of the road for reading, totalling, and filing with TRACE.

TRACE is beta software for evidence work. These terms are short on purpose — they spell out what an account is, what the service does and doesn't, and how to reach us when something needs attention.

Account terms

One person, one inbox, one password.

A TRACE account is one person tied to one email address and one password. There are no organizations, no SSO, no team seats in beta — every row, Case File, and saved search belongs to a single account holder. Beta access is invite-gated: if you don't have a code, you can ask for one through /contact and we'll let you in as capacity opens.

Acceptable use

Read-only is the rule.

TRACE is read-only by construction, and the use of it is read-only too. Don't scrape, crawl, or replay the row feed past your own exports. Don't redistribute totals or rows beyond the share link the system already hands you — the tokenized link at /case-files/share/[token] is the only sanctioned hand-off, and it carries no credentials. Don't smuggle account credentials into the import path. Don't try to bypass the share-link tokenization, replay an expired token, or probe for another account's rows.

Service scope

What TRACE does — and what it deliberately doesn't.

TRACE gives you read-only aggregation across the institutions you've authorized, search and total over those rows, a Case File to pin and tag them in, and exports as CSV, PDF, or a tokenized share link. TRACE does not move money. TRACE does not compute, transmit, or store a credit score. TRACE does not provide tax, legal, financial, or advisory output of any kind. The aggregators stay between you and your bank; TRACE never holds credentials that could move funds.

Liability

Evidence tooling, not advice.

TRACE is provided as-is. Totals shown on screen reconcile to the row count exported and to the rows themselves — that's the promise — but TRACE does not give you tax, legal, or financial advice, and nothing on this site or in the app substitutes for a professional opinion on your specific situation. You own your judgment on what the rows mean; TRACE is the read-only tool that surfaces them.

Contact

Reach the team.

Questions, breach reports, and end-to-end account-deletion requests all go through the same door: a note through the Questions form at /contact, or an email to trace-8@polsia.app. We read every note.
